1pm - 3pm (Doors 12:30pm)
Oran Na Mara is the Scottish Gaelic title for the beautiful Irish, animated, fantasy-film released in 2014, Song of the Sea. BBC Alba has dubbed many animations in an attempt to share, revive and regenerate Scottish Gaelic, which after years of suppression and dominance of the English language, was classified in 2018 as ‘Definitely Endangered’. In Leith we see a revival of the language through the growing community surrounding Taobh na Pairce on Bonnington. Fàilte one and all! In Gaelic with English subtitles.
The feature will be preceded by short animations from Edinburgh-based artist Cat Bruce, including award-winning No Place Like Home. Cat will be joining us to introduce her work.
All Tickets are Name-Your-Price on Citizen Tickets. Spaces are limited to allow for social distancing.
