12:00 - 1:30pm (Doors 11:30am)
Saturday kicks off with archive screening Coming Out, an STV documentary of Edinburgh queer life in the 80s and broadcast in 1983. The film crucially also provides a tantalising glimpse of Edinburgh’s first queer bookshop Lavendar Menace, while it was operating in Forth Street.
The film was a direct influence on playwright James Ley when he was developing his award-winning production Love Song To Lavender Menace, which has been performed around the world and at the Edinburgh Fringe. Lavender Menace founders Bob Orr and Sigrid Nielsen will join James Ley and representatives of the LGBT Centre for Health and Wellbeing for a conversation after the film.
Includes spoken word performance from Gray Crosbie.
All Tickets are Name-Your-Price on Citizen Tickets. Spaces are limited to allow for social distancing.
