Produce the LeithLate Festival 2023!
We are seeking a part-time Producer to programme and deliver the LeithLate festival on the 30th June, 1st and 2nd of July 2023, with the support of festival assistants and the Board of Trustees.
As LeithLate Producer, you will lead on programming and delivering a 3-day festival of creative and cultural events that will take place on the 30th June & 1st & 2nd of July 2023. The central component of this festival should entail an art crawl around Leith.
Responsibilities and duties include:
• Programming a dynamic festival of events that will appeal to diverse audiences from Leith and beyond
• Establishing local connections & liaising with artists, musicians & curators
• Liaising with venues, community groups, local businesses & other Leith stakeholders
• Arranging the hire/purchase of equipment
• Identifying needs for paid staff and recruitingy
• Preparing risk assessments & other documentation required to carry out events
• Liaising with & directing a team of volunteers
• Sending out press releases & liaising with the media
• Updating social media platforms/website regularly
• Managing online ticket sales & physical events box office
• Introducing & chairing events where necessary
• Setting & keeping to a strict budget
• Preparing evaluation & feedback reports
The successful candidate should have knowledge, skills & experience in the majority of these areas:
• Leith & the local community
• The current cultural scene, particularly visual arts
• Programming, producing & delivering cultural events
• Marketing & promotion
• Working with artists & partners
• Budget management
• Event risk management
• Evaluation & reporting
• Delivering community-centred place-based cultural engagement

The fee is £9,000, based on an estimated 45 days of work at £200 per day, with longer working days during the festival.

Interviews will take place mid-late January 2023 (remotely in the evenings if possible) towards an immediate start. If invited to interview then we will ask you to briefly present & discuss an outline of an idea for an event at the festival.
