LeithLate is delighted to be partnering with Leith Festival to bring you the LeithLate19 Weekend, packed full of activities to delight and entertain you over the weekend of Gala Day.
Most activities over the weekend are free and open on a drop-in basis. For ticketed events, see below.
Leith Gala Day
LeithLate is co-curating the Mainstage at Leith Gala Day on Leith Links this year in collaboration with The Skinny, as part of the LeithLate19 Weekend taking place on 8th and 9th June.. We're programming live music from female-identifying musicians and bands from 1.30pm on Saturday 8th June, compered by Roberta Pia of The Banana Sessions, who is also performing and playing a dj set to close. The Gala Day Mainstage line-up details are as follows:

Attendance to Leith Gala Day is completely free. The live music on the Mainstage is just one of a host of community-based activities taking place on the day including stalls from local organisations, (a number of which LeithLate are sponsoring), family area, and even dog show! LeithLate presents ALRIGHT HEN? – an intimate gig at The Happiness Hotel co-curated by our pal and ultimate riot grrrl Lou Mclean.
This incredible line-up in a unique Leith venue follows on from our free day-time gig on Leith Links, showcasing some of Scotland's best female-identifying musicians.
The night will kick-off with rebellious riffs from Girls Rock School, followed by folk-alt-rock sounds from singer-songwriter Annie Booth. The Countess of Fife will bring some country-punk anarchism to the stage, with Lou McLean seeing the gig off in style with her razor-sharp lyrics set to catchy pop melodies.

LeithLate proudly presents YAS QUEEN! club night at Leith FAB Cricket Club - a thoroughly tongue-in-cheek celebration of the Queen's birthday and the official after-party for Leith Gala Day 2019.
We'll be rolling out the red carpet for our very own drag queen Mystika Glamoor, whilst all-female DJ-collective Miss World will be providing some royally good beats.

LeithLate is delighted to announce the return of our popular Mural Tours as part of LeithLate19 Weekend. Cameron Foster will take you on a guided walking tour of Leith's best street art ranging from historical murals to contemporary art works. You'll even have the opportunity to meet some of the artists behind the murals.

4 Doors Down is a new public art initiative in the old town of Leith. Four doors are being painted by Scottish street artists as part of Leith Festival & LeithLate 2019.
“These unloved and unused doorways will be showcasing how street art can entertain, inspire and brighten a small corner of Leith for residents, workers and visitors during the festival and beyond.”
The Cube project - Doodle on a Cube!

Visit Quality Yard in Maritime Lane and Doodle on a Cube. “For kids, families and friends and people who want to make friends and feel part of the Leith community. All ages welcome. Open studios at Quality Yard Art Space

For the first time six local artists will be opening their studios and exhibition area offering a glimpse behind the scenes and the opportunity to meet the artists. Participating artists are: Zoe Atherford, Olivia Turner, Andy Cumming, Karen Fleming, Douglas Allison and Lauren McLaughlin. Visitors can also enjoy the newly repainted 360 degree street art courtyard outside
Lapidary Demonstration and Displays at The Scottish Mineral and Lapidary Club

Lapidary is the art of cutting, shaping and polishing rough stones or natural minerals and turning them into jewellery or ornaments. Visitors can view these skills as members prepare stones, facet gemstones or do silverwork and can try gold panning. Display areas also show examples of members’ work, part of the Club Collection of over 3000 minerals and a comprehensive library collection.
